From time to time the LOM on sun systems gets confused. There is a command structure in the OS to interact with the LOM sub system. THe restart command is provided below:

/usr/platform/SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240/sbin/scadm resetsc

The path to the scadm command can be found by useing the find command:

find /usr/platform -name scadm

The help feature for the command can be found with the scadm help option.

for V890 systems the location of the restart commands are:

/usr/SUNW,Sun-Fire-V890/rsc

issue command:
Code:
rscadm restartrsc
to restart the alom

easiest way to get to the proper location is to issue this command:

Code:
cd /usr/platform/`uname -i`/rsc
./rscadm restartrsc
